Many STRINGERs moved from NC to GA in the very early 1800's, probably because of the 1805 land lottery. Laurens County was the location of several Stringer births and marriages. I am especially interested in Noah and Josiah, (my gggg grandfather) from Edgecombe County, NC, and Frances, who was married to Lucretia, from Chowan County, NC. Apparently, Frances (Francis?) died, and Lucretia married Josiah, whose wife Selah Davis, (my gggg grandmother)had died, probably before the move to GA; they and Noah moved on to Lawrence County, MS.
