My John Hinchey was born around 1755 in VA, but his family migrated down through NC some of them stayed in Laurens Co SC, his uncles William and John stayed in SC. My John Hinchey was born to THomas Mitchell and as far as we know Mary Ann Barnett this part of the family moved on to Henry/Clayton Co GA,some of William's children moved to AL and from there who knows. They all had a knack for naming their children after family members so it is possible that there could ne a connection. My Mitchell family was from Prince William Sound VA and the first one that we have data on was William Dewitt Mitchell born around 1703 ? he had 3 sons John, William and my ggggggrandfather THomas.
