David Smith bought land (district 9 land lot 200) in the 1820's from Martha Rollins. It was 202 acres so the land was probably won in the Ga land lottery by Martha Rollins or her husband and he died or it might have been won by David Smith in the Ga land lottery but I think he probably bought the land. The land was originally in Henry co ga at the time of the Ga land lottery but it was in Newton co Ga when Newton co ga was formed. David Smith and wife Sarah Austin were listed in the 1830 Newton co Ga census. I am trying to find who his parents were and if I knew which county he was living in when he bought the land from Martha Rollins I might be able to research the Smiths in that county and find who hhis parents were. He probably married Sarah Austin in the late 1820's but I can not find a marriage record for them in Newton co ga. Maybe someone can find a marriage record for David Smith and Sarah Austin which would show which county they were married in. thanksd, Ross
