Jane -- Hmmmm -- Kansas Jones Thompson buried at the same place as Asa J. Smith!! Another reason to confirm she was Miss Brigman as a child. I would supposed she thought more of Asa Smith as her father, since Robinson Brigman died at Vicksburg 17 March 1863 when she was just short of 5 years old.

Any Jones's buried at Olive Branch? Other Brigmans or Smiths? Two of the children of Asa Smith and Caroline Miller married Gordons, who I suspect to be siblings, but don't have enough information on them to confirm through 1880 census.

Any thing else I can try to chase down in Coweta?
