It is serendipity that the first query on this page answered the query I was about to post. I have noted the Will Book F, page 74 will of James Reynolds, died approx 18 May 1822, naming sons John, James and William, and daughters Betsy Cross, Nancy Watson, Polly Moore and Patsy and Rebecca Durham. This is serendipity as my question was whether anyone knew if this was the widower of Susannah Malone Reynolds, who died before 1795 and was named in the 1795 LWT of her father, Daniel Malone, in Halifax Co., Va.
Daniel's will left land to his sons, Drury Malone (md. Cecily Johnston of Lunenburg Co., Va.) and son, John.
Other sons were Daniel, Nathaniel, Bannister, Jameson, Peter (executor of Featherston Cross estate), Thomas Malone and daughters Susannah Reynolds, Elizabeth Trainum w/o Clement Trainum, Rebecca Andrews w/o John Andrews, Mary Irving w/o James Irving and Martha w/o William Harding.
The 1795 will of Daniel states "to my daughter Susannah Reynolds, dec'd 1 shilling" and his will was witnessed by James Reynolds. Also, the LWT of a William Reynolds named his son-in-law Reuben Trainum, and guardian of Reuben's daughter Harriet was Clement Malone, who later married Harriet Trainum. In 1792 in Greene Co., Ga. deeds, Peter Malone sold the negro Bob as part of the Featherson Cross estate, to Richard Sansom in Greene Co., Ga. and Richard Sansom, by Lunenburg Co., Va. tithes, was an overseer of Daniel Malone, with titheable Peter Malone. My husband descends from "a" Daniel Malone who married Elizabeth Sansom, d/o Micajah Sansom, Sr. who md. in Lunenburg Co., Va. so hints that Daniel of Lunenburg and Halifax Co., Va. was parent of our Daniel.
The 1798 Greene Co., Ga. census shows Peter Malone (8 white, no negroes) Drury Malone, 7 whites, no negoroes; John Maloen, 2 whites and 2 negroes; David Malone 4 whites and no negroes (likely s/o Drury); Jameson Malone, 4 whites and no negroes; Daniel Malone with 1 white, no negro-and likely "our Daniel" s/o Daniel, Sr. who apparently minor at 1795 death of Daniel, his father, as Clement Trainum appt. his guardian.

Since Jameson, Drury, Peter all also in Edgefield Co., SC records, there is no doubt your James' and his children were the family of Susannah Malone Reynolds.

Have much to share with you.
