Anyone know anything about Mintor-Mathis Cemetery on Big Creek Road. Is this on private land? I'm looking for information on William Mintor Mathis and his wife Elizabeth Davis, daughter of Milton Davis

William Minter and Elizabeth Davis Mathis are my ggg grandparents. This cemetery is on private land. An older, Bearden cousin knows where it is and will take me. Will keep you updated. Which of their children is your line?

This is my husband's family. Robert D. Mathis is his great-grandfather, and his daughter Carrie Mathews is his grandmother. She married Harley Bates. I would love to hear about the cemetery when you go.

Hello Cousin!!!

William Mintor & Elizabeth Davis are my GGG-grandparents as well! I am descended through their daughter, Rebecca Ann Mathis, (b. 22 Feb. 1840). Her & husband, Roland L. Bearden are buried at New Liberty (off Big Creek Rd.)

Also, William Clark Bearden (an older brother of my GG-grandpa Roland), was married to Adeline Neta Davis. Adeline was daughter of Milton Davis & Rebecca Burnett - so in other words... Adeline was Rebecca Mathis' aunt, Elizabeth Davis' sister, and Roland's brother W.C.'s wife!!!

I'm planning on visiting New Liberty & others real soon, as I am not too far away living in Woodstock.

Were the owners of the pvt. property you mentioned receptive? Friendly? I'd love to see that site, but wouldn't want to infringe or intrude upon anyone.

I'd like to know if you went & what you found. Would also like to exchange further info!!

William Minter Mathis is my great great grandfather. I descend from his daughter Sarah. I would love to correspond with you. The Minter Mathis Cemetery is on private land that is no longer owned by the family.
