I too, am interested in the Wallis name in Forsyth County. My 3rd great-grandfather, Tyra Wallis was listed in the 1850 census as 17 years old and living in the household of his father John Wallis and wife Jemimah. Would this be the same Wallis line that you are researching? There were several members of this line that had the name William or the initial "W" in their middle names.
If this is the same line, I will share anything I have.
