VICKERY'S CREEK--A stream flowing sowthwest to become
Cedar Creek before emptying into the Chattahoochee River in
Fulton county (formerly
Cobb & Milton). The creek was named for a post-Revolution Indian countryman, Henry
Vickery, who married Cherokee sisters, Charlote & Hettie
Cordery. In more recent years the stream has been known throughout the county by the more prosaic name "Big
Creek
