Dear Lewis,

I was talking to a good friend just last week about the 2nd Armor Division passing through Rome in 1942 on its way to Virginia and, ultimately, the invasion of North Africa. This friend was a young man at the time and recalls that school was not yet in. He spent the day watching the division come down Broad Street. He said that there weren't any photos in the newspaper at the time due to security concerns. If you happen to find any photos of this event, please let me know. We're interested in preparing an article.
