I was wondering if anyone had any information on past Native American tribes in the region of Floyd County, GA. A relative of mine, James Alexander Copeland (born 1817, Floyd, died, Oct 31 1883 in DeKalb, AL) most likely has Native American origins (or a parent of that origin) and I am trying to identify anywhere where I could research this possibility more. He seemed to have moved to AL around 1830/1835. James' parents were from Spartanburg, SC and Buncome County, NC. Please contact me here or by message if you can offer any information or advice!
