Severn had a son, John, born abt 1833 who is listed on Jennie stewart's death certificate as her father. Jenny's mother is listed as Virginia Hanberry. I can't find a marriage record for John Walea and Virginia or Jane, Hanberry. A cousin told me Jennie's mother was Indian, so if that is true, then she could not marry John Walea.Georgia laws said whites could only marry whites. That would explain why Jennie (Jane) listed her name as Jane Hanberry when she married Berry Stewart.Jennie and Berry had a daughter, Talitha Lavinia Stewart. She married Henry E. Edenfield.
