Researching Shumake, Shoemake, Shoemaker, Carr and Karr of Dawson Co., GA, mid to late 1800's. I am descendant of Wilburn and Darcus Cooper Shoemaker, who lived in Buford, in early 1900's. Their children: James (Jim), a batchelor, John, who moved to Danfort, MO, Dave, Eugene, Samuel (Sammy), Hannah, Roxie who married Johnny Carr, Mary Elizabeth who married Joshua Thompson Holcomb. Mary Elizabeth and Joshua had the following children: Annie Mae, born 1890, Gainesville, GA, Lelia Minervah, born 1893, Abbeville, SC, Mamie Lea, born 1895, Abbeville, SC, James Luther, born 1901, Buford, GA.
