James S. (T. on some censuses) Cook was b. 4 Mar 1804 in
Washington Co., GA. He died 2 Sep 1880
Clayton Co., GA. His homeplace stood where
Fort Gillem (think not being used by military now) was in what is called Forest
Park,
GA today. I spoke with researchers back in the 1970-80s and know there is a family bible somewhere in the metro Atlanta area. I think he served in the Indian War (early 1800s) but don't have information on it.
He md 1-Martha
Mills of
Washington Co., GA and had 13 children. He md 2-Mary Ann
Virginia "Ginie"
Farmer and they had 1 (known to me)son.
He moved his family to
Henry Co., GA between 1853-1856. (Part of Henry later made up part of Clayton, don't know if he moved into Clayton or lines just redrawn.)
