In the "History of Clayton Co.GA, 1821-1983"
Mention is made of William M. Gunter on pg. # 152.
In talking about
Hebron Primitive
Baptist Church a man named
Luther James Brown recalls;
"Among the pastors that followed Rev.James P. Lyon, the first
Pastor of that Church were Rev. Goddard,........(etc) &
RevIL.L. Gunter, another great minister and the son of William M. Gunter, the man who gave the two acres of land on which the church was built."
There are many Gunters in
Henry County as well, you might try that area, because
Clayton Co. was at one time a part of
Henry Co.
There is also, mention of
Gunter on Page 6 and 46. I will try to get that info. to you later.
I am indirectly related to Gunter's through my
Campbell line.
Also, my mother was a
Shields from Clayton and Henry counties.
