Edward
Conner b.1793, who married Rebecca Cook in
Clarke Co., GA, 12 Apr 1813 was my GGGGrandfather. The information that I have shows that he was a lawyer in
Athens,
Clarke Co. When he and his son-in-law, Thomas H. Stephens (my GGGrandfather)joined the Confederate
Army, Rebecca and their daughter, Mary Ann C. Stephens, moved to Fayetteville,
Fayette Co., GA. My GreatGrandmother, Sarah was born there to Mary Ann and Thomas 27 May 1863. Thomas died 30 Sept. 1863 in
Savannah,
GA.,while still in the
Army. He was buried in Fayetteville. Edward
Conner returned there after the War. He died in 1869.
