I am looking for the parents of Robert Hancock born 1813 in Georgia. He married Elizabeth Adams on 23 November, 1836. I believe he was born in Clarke County, Georgia and the family camed to GA via North/South Carolina. I have hit an impasse. Can anyone help??? Thank you.

I have hit impasse also with my GGGGrandfather, Samuel Hancock b.1796 in SC. m. Frances or Mary Atkinson in Clarke County GA in 1820. I have no information on Samuel's parents or siblings. He came to GA as "young man" It is possible that Robert was a brother....every link helps.

I am stuck on James Hancock, born 1827 in South Carolina. The problem is I don't know what county in S. C. It is possible the two are related, there are sooooo darn many of them it's hard to keep them all straight!

I forgot to mention that James also ended up in Clarke County, Georgia. They may be a cousin or brothers. I think I have ruled out my orginal post about Robert as a relative. But it gets confusing!
