The formal opening of the Coast Line Rail road from Savannah to Thunderbolt took place yesterday at Thunderbolt.
The Coast Line Railroad had its origin in the dissatisfaction which grew out of the location of the route of the Savannah, Skidaway and Seaboard railroad, which was farthest from the coast, not striking salt water until it reached the Isle of Hope.
Mr. Kine conferred with Mr. Desvergers and suggested getting a charter for a railroad to Wilmington. They had an interview with Col. John Screven, who was determined to get a charter immediately. He prepared the draft of the charter which was granted by the Legislature. One of the corporators organized the Atlantic Coast Line Company. They were composed of the following: W.S.
