Does anyone know if the book, "Palmetto a town and its people," is still available for purchase?

If so, where and how much.

Thank you so much,

Valerie Freeman

I have a lot of family that still lives in that area, but I've never heard of this book. If there are copies available, I'd love to have some also.

I checked the online catalog at the Rome, GA, library and learned that this book is in the Special Collection there (non-circulating). I intend to go look at the book, since I have ancestors who lived in Palmetto, GA. If there's anything in particular you'd like me to look for, let me know by email: cdavisradar@hotmail.com. I don't check the message boards on a regular basis, so email will be the best way to let me knowl.

I see that there is alot of interest in this book. However, after reading ALL of the messages I don't know anything about the book. Sounds like it might be interesting. Is this Palmetto, GA? Are there any Teals/ Teels in it? Thank you in advance for replying.

There is a section with Cochran Family, Samuel Cochran (1740-1791), and his son's John (1762-1810),Cheadle W.(178?-1854). his son Cheadle W. There is also a picture and history of Berry Wynn Cochran Jr. and his wife Mary Pickens Johnson. There is a history of Cheadle Walter Cochran and of William Ownen Cochran Family. That is all i have listed in the book for Cochran's. If there is something specific you need please let me know.
