Any Eunices in Woodbine?

I recently came across some very romantic love letters addressed to a "Mrs. Eunice" from a secret admirer from out of town. Her name is never revealed and woodbine is only referred to a few times so i'm only guessing that is where she is from. They are from around 1925 or so. I can gather from the letters that she is married with a "whole mess" of kids. I can't rest until i've tracked this love story down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I am researching a Green B McDonald. I do not know where he was born. The first time he shows up is in Heard Co Georgia. His wife, Mary Ann E Jones. They were both born abt 1824. Married in Carroll County 1844. First born: Mary E McDonald. I do not know whom she married. Second born: Giles McDonald. Killed in 1879 in a bar fight by Miles Duncan in Coweta County. Third born: Asbury Augustus McDonald. Married Susan Hall. Fourth born: Robert Edward McDonald became a prisoner in 1880 and ran away. Never to be heard from again. I just today found a census from 1830 with a Gilles McDonald in Camden County. The same name as Green B McDonald's First born son. I would like to know if I'm in the right direction. Is there someone that would be able to find anything for me? I live in Jackson county. If you could help I would appreicate this. I found this Gilles McDonald in the Floyd's Neck area. The census found on Ancestry website is on page 1 of 4. near the bottom.

Thank you for your help

Looking find out for sure if my Caroline A. who married William W. Bunkley c. 1858 in Camden county is a LITTLEFIELD. Their son Richard W. was listed as living with Alexander D. Littlefield in 1880 and Richard's sister Susan was living with her cousin Henry Timmons in 1880 (Henry was married to Martha Littlefield) who I believe is a sister of Alexaner Littlefield. I believe that my Caroline may be their sister or aunt. Both William and Caroline disappear after 1870 and all of the children have been sent to live with other families and relatives (I believe they died before 1880).
Hi Everyone,

It's Toni Carrier, writing to share the exciting news that the Magnolia Plantation Foundation of Charleston, SC has agreed to fund a sister website to Africana Heritage called Lowcountry Africana.

Lowcountry Africana will be entirely dedicated to records that document the family and cultural heritage of African Americans in the historic rice-growing areas of South Carolina, Georgia and extreme northeastern Florida, an area that scholars and preservationists have identified as a distinct culture area, home to the rich Gullah/Geechee culture.

The Lowcountry Africana website will be a treasure trove of primary documents, book excerpts and multimedia that further document and explore the dynamic cultural and family heritage of the Lowcountry Southeast.

Access to the entire content of Lowcountry Africana will always be 100% free. You can learn more about the website features by following the link below:

http://www.africanaheritage.com/Lowcountry_Africana.asp

We are excited and profoundly grateful to the Magnolia Plantation Foundation for their support of this wonderful project.

If you would like to share records for the database, you may send them directly to us at the email address below.
I am a descendent of John L. Taylor and Priscilla Drury and have been researching the Taylor line for a long time. I went to the genealogy libray in Salt Lake City and researched the Taylors of Sampson County, N. C. andd after reading the wills of Jonathan Taylor and Laban Taylor recorded there< I decided that Laban Taylor could not have been the father of John L. Taylor and Laban Taylor of camden Co. Ga. It has been a llong time since I did that and do not have the details at my finger tip but I believe that their father was William Taylor of Camden County, Ga. I do believe he was related to the Laban Taylor of Sampson Co. N.C. but I can't determine how they were related. Let me know your feelings on this.

My ggrandfather owned a tract of land in 1855 known as 'Spring Hills'. He and three of his children died that year and were buried on their plantation (I'm assuming it's Sping Hills). Later his wife was buried there also. Their graves (hear say) are unmarked. I have not been able to locate burial for him , the 3 children that died, his wife, my ggrandfather/ggrandmother, my ggranduncle/ggrandaunt.

There is a cemetery known as 'Wilkerson/Spring Hill/Green' with 9 unmarked graves listed on the Camden Co. web site. All other burials are after 1956.

Does anyone know anything about this cemetery? Was there a homestead near the cemetery?

This may all be circumtance, but with the name "Spring Hill' and 9 unmarked graves - I'm wondering if there is some relation.

I am searching for the exact date of death and the burial of Frances Beckham Woolard. She is last found on the 1910 census in Camden County at the age of about 74. She was living with her son in law who was widowed 3 years prior in 1907. Jospeh Anderson husband of Ophelia Harriet. I am unsure if she died in this home or perhaps moved on to another child, but she only had 2 children living by the 1910 census. She was in the Tarboro Dist of Camden 1910. Does anyone know what cemeteries are in that dist? If you can help me find her death date ( I would like to try and find an obit ) or her burial site I would appreciate it.

For those who are researching the WRIGHT/MCCARL/RICHARDS/SEALS/MICKLER lines, I am posting a part of my mother's obituary which appeared in both the Johnson City Press, Johnson City, TN and the Jacksonville Journal, Jacksonville, FL. She was a granddaughter of A.C. Wright of St. Mary's, GA. She was the last of her generation of A.C. Wright descendents. The Wright surname ended in this branch with the previous generation.

OBITUARY: ZOE LOVENDAHL

Zoe Lovendahl, age 91, Johnson City, TN died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Appalachian Christian Village. A native of St. Augustine, FL, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Ada Zoe Wright McCarl. Mrs. Lovendahl was an active
member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Johnson City, TN. Before moving to Johnson City, she was a very active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She retired in
the mid 1970's as bookkeeper of Good Hope Water Company. Mrs. Lovendahl was one of the first persons to learn how to use the IBM computer card system at
the beginning of World War II and she then trained others at the US Navy shipyard.

The Funeral Service for Zoe Lovendahl will be conducted at 10:30 AM,Saturday, March 25th in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, FL with Rev. Don Reiter officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 -10:30 AM in the church prior to the service.

Does anyone know how many cemeteries there are in St. Mary's and what their names are? My cousin went to a funeral for our Aunt Sallie Scott Newman Taylor who died in 1962. I have not been able to find which cemetery she is buried in. He said there were many other Scott family members buried there as well. Her father, Francis Miller Scott and mother, Mary Jane Mills Scott are supposed to be buried in Camden Co. also.

I have quite a bit of info on the Floyd's family in Camden County, Georgia in the early to mid 1800s. I have a family record transcribe by Richard Floyd going back to late 1700s.
I also am trying to find out info on why or what happened at the end of the Civil War to the Floyd plantations named Bellevue and Fairchild. I do have some photos on what remains of Bellevue from the air. For those not familiar with it, it was two stories and made in the shape of an anchor.

Does anyone know the ancestors of Joseph Thomas, Sr., & Joseph Thomas, Jr., who ran the Bullhead Bluff plantation in Camden county from the late 1700's at least through 1829, when Joseph Thomas, Sr, left it to Joseph Thomas, Jr?

I suspect there may have been a connection to Teresa Thomas (1744-1825) the wife of my 3rd great-granduncle. They left Camden county in 1785, moving to St. Augustine, where Theophilus Hill died 20 Dec 1790. Teresa remarried to Manuel Marcial, renaming most of her eight children with Spanish equivalents of their given names. Two of their girls married Spaniards, with Sarah (Maria Del Carmen) marrying Xavier Sanchez 28 Dec 1787 and Christine (Christina) marrying Jose Sanchez de Ortega 15 Sep 1794. Juana married a Dewitt (possibly), and Isabel (Elizabeth) married Joseph Burnell. Sgt. Lodowick Hill died in Edgefield district, SC, married to Susan Grigsby, and John Thomas Hill died the day he was born, 6 Jun 1787, in St. Augustine.

I am connected to two differant McClellan Lines. My direct line is from Screven Co. Ga. bn. 1820, William Bonapart McClellan. My mother line is connected is the Andrew / Charles McClellan line in Camden Co. Ga. mentioned in " Wire Grass Huxfords"books.
I am trying to research both McClellan lines. A number of McClellan from across the U.S. have got togeather and established a group of McClellans with various spelling of our names using DNA as another tool in our research to join us.
Each of us have our own reason for having our DNA done. Mine is the lack of written / documented data past the 1850s to located my direct lines. It is my hope that the many differant spelling of the McClellan name will join us. Your knowage of your roots is needed for the commond good of us all. DNA will help us all. Please contact me for details or information on finding our DNA site. .
Our DNA site shows only your DNA results / matched along with others. It does not give out any personnal information that I.D. you. It does give you a way of contacting any of the other people. It is up to you or them to share any personnal information.
Come join us for the common good of us all.
Cecil McClellan

John McLaran, of our Clan U family of the Clan MacLaren Society, was born abt 1760 probably in the Baltimore, MD, area. Old family history reports that he moved to the St. Mary's, GA, area after a career in shipbuilding in Baltimore. His wife was Nancy Moore who after John McLaran's death remarried to a Peter Godley.

I have been unable to identify this man in any of the early 1800 census data to date. Is there anyone who might know of this man and his wife? Did they die in the St. Mary's area and are buried there?

They had three children; James, Eliza and Charles and I have been able to track them down for several generations. However, what happened to John is still a mystery.

I would appreciate any local assistance anyone might be able to offer.

Contact me directly at chartemp@aol.com

I am looking for anyone that might know a Spivey family that lived in Jeff Davis County Georgia during the 1920's. My records show that they had a son named Joe Terrell Spivey on July 18,1924. I am not even sure if that information is exactly correct. I do know that he lived in south Georgia during the 1940's. Probably in Savannha for a while and then he lived in Sylvania from late 1944 until his death on March 20, 1954. He married my mother - Jane Earleen Kemp on Dec, 30, 1944. They 5 children together. His children were very young when he died and had no memory of him. Nor do they have any information about him. They would love to know his parents names, siblings, etc - anything. If you think you might know someone related to him, please contact me. You can respond to this message or contact me directly at tinksmom81@earthlink.net

Could someone please help me track my family? All I have is that on February 14,1948 Claude R. Jones married a Dolly Edmundson. I think the R. stands for Robert but I'm not sure. I would appreciate any info on him. They were married in Camden County at Kingsland.
