I have a copy of a Warrant deeded March 7th 1814 to JOHN CLARK. The Warrant was for Five Hundred Acres situated on Crooked Creek and North side of Crooked River. The chainbearers for the plat were William Clark and David Clark; it was Recorded in Book E page 311.
The plat shows that the land was bounded on the west by land owned by Nathaniel Greene, Esq (son of General Nathanael Greene), and on the northeast side by Mr. John Woods land.
Does anyone have information about a) this JOHN CLARK or the Chainbearers, William Clark and David Clark? or b)the purchaser of this land. Except for Mr. Woods, none of the other men mentioned above are found in the 1820 nor the 1830 census for Camden County.
