I'm looking for information on my family's 19th century history. I am Robert Hawk son of Joseph Sidney Hawk (b.1947) of Morgan, Georgia. His father was Coleen Hawk (b. 1904, married Katie Lou Davis) whose father was Cary Thomas Hawk (both of Morgan). Cary Thomas was marry to Sally Haddin. Unfortunately, that is a far back as the family's oral history and documentation goes. Cary's father may have been Franklin Hawk who is listed on the 1880 Calhoun County Census as 33 year old white male married to 25 year old Jane with a son Thomas age 6 (roughly the same age as my great-grandfather Cary Thomas). What I'm looking for is something more to substantiate my claim of Franklin Hawk as my great-great grandfather and also learn about the role of my ancestors during the War Between the States. In addition, in my grandmother's old house, I found an 1889 grammar book that belong to a Lydia Hawk and I would like to know how she is related to me. Any help you can provide to give me a great start is appreciated. Thanks, Robert
