I have a Charlotte Bell who married George W. Evans 1836 in Montgomery County, GA. She was the widow of Joseph Bell; he died in Montgomery County in 1836. George Evans was guardian of her two minor daughters, Margaret and Susannah Bell. Margaret married in 1837 and Susannah may have married a Walden (Weldon? Wilton?)a few years later. Could anyone give me information about them, or point me in the right direction?

Possibly Roberts birth was a typo. He was born in 1759. Robert was the 1st son of William, born in 1743

I have some research on the Burke County (St. George's Parish), Georgia Patterson family. The particular line I researched is John Patterson born 1736 Antrim, Ireland-died 1822 Burke County, Georgia. John's children were Mary, John, Jr. (born ca. 1767, Sarah, William (born ca. 1776) and Samuel (born 1777-1784). This family migrated to Dale County, Alabama by the 1820's. This line had various Robert Patterson's. I am not sure I follow your ancestor's birth dates if Robert (born 1824) was son of William Patterson (born 1743). William would have been around 80 years old at the birth. I will be glad to share any info I have if you can be more specific as to your Patterson line.

Collins-Avret cemetery

I am looking for someone who may know where this cemetery is, it appeared in the book Grave Markers in Burke county which was published in the early 1970's, I believe its just over the Burke/Richmond line near McBean creek, I would appreciate if someone could find it and photograph all the graves there, on grave is Nathaniel Thomas Avret...C.S.A

My 5th Great grandfather was William Patterson born Sept 17, 1743. He and my 4th great grand father, Robert Patterson Sr, born Nov.6, 1824. Both were from St. George's Parish and both fought in the Revolution under Gen. John Twiggs who is also related. It is possible that William & John were brothers, however I have not been able to prove this.

r u the one he told ne about? do u have a brother... i think monte told.me his name was joey im not sure. how ever i did indeed speak with cynthia because she tried to say i was.not his daughter after he came to see me and monte sayin yes denise is infact mine.cynthia and i spoke on more than one occassion. to prove she was not being truthfull i offered her a copy of her marrage certificate n my biryh certificate. at which point she say ," yes ok ur his butt leave us alone my kids dont know of any of montes other kids and they wont" I told het not a problem i simply wanted.to b acknowledged and know so thank u cynthia. monte use to call me.collect from woodstock ga. he also mailed me 2 birthday gifts from ga. my dad knew.i was.his not only due to the fact i look just like him but also because we have the same attitudes. again this is a picture monte gave me of himself when he came to vegas to meet me.

I am his daughter Denise Tyann Fransler. i met.monte in the 90s. he told me had adopted a boy and another girl. besides those 2 monte informed me he had 6 other boys. montes mother also verifies montes other children. i even spoke with cynthia after montes visit to vegas when we met. this is the pic of himself that he gave me at the vegas airport

burke county court house burned down in 1855. They lost a lot of importatn documents. Then thye also had another fire years later- unsure of date.

We both have the same info looks like. I don't think however I have the 1880 census. I also have a 1870 census which show Smith Griffin the son of Boston and Mariah Griffin. It also show Jump and shoe Griffin as his brothers . The age of this Simth Griffin is a macht and my great Aunt told me when she was alive that Smith's mother was named Mariah. Do you have Smith Griffin's marriage certificate? I have an 1880 Burke County, Ga census that lists Smith and Jennings Griffin as brothers. Anna Williams as a couisin and Wiley Reynold's as a boarder. Also there is a Crawford Toombs married to Seelie with a son Porter. Could Crawford be a brother to Smith and Jennings Griffin? It dosen't list a relationship. There all around the same age. Crawford 21, Smith 18 and Jennings 13. What are your thoughts on this I'm a bit confused.

Most of my family (the Roberts) are from Burke and Richmond Counties (mainly in McBean, GA). The oldest records I can trace back are for George D. Roberts 1839-1927. I have records that he was born in South Carolina but no record of parents leading me to believe he was an orphan. We are also kin to the McElmurray, Green, Colson, Tinley and Winter families of the same area.

George was married to Susan Rivannah McElmurray and thier children were

You see I am interested in this John Kemp person, I want to find out where the heck my family came from, or shall we say, what plantation, I am pretty sure kemp is not my family name, and I do not like people from Africa, they are too conceited anyway, and I dislike them very much, if it were not for Civil Rights movements and such they would not be over here themselves, they are thieves and are false, especially nigeria. I want to know where the generational curses come from, why some of my family is nuts , screwy in the brain, they act like the Hat fields and Mccoys when they get together. I call them the True Kemp's, that I am not though, because my granny married a kemp so only by name, I do not have an ounce of slave blood in my body. I am very well educated and well rounded, and can be judgemental at times, so be honest, no body owes me anything, I just want to know why my people are crazy is it the result of genetics or the Social Darwinism of society, I wanna know.

I am looking for information about Hall Hudson, land holder in Burke since 1767 George' Parish. Hall and wife Elizabeth (Hampton?) and especially their son, Byrd who married Mary Ann Bedingfield in Burke in 1811, enrolled there in War 1812, paid taxes for Hall in 1815. Taxes paid for Hall "indigent" Rev. soldier in 1822 (although Hall seemed to be quite prominent before revolution). What became of Hall? any death records? Elizabeth died in Laurens Co in 1836, obit says "Relic of Hall Hudson," Rev Soldier-any record of his military service? Did their son James become Methodist preacher in 1813?

Curious where you got your information. I can find absolutely nothing that says William and Elizabeth Echols had a son named Bartley b1793. If you google William & Elizabeth you will find more than one family history for these two and none of them link them to Bartley b1793

Looking for missing orphan siblings

As the story goes, my GGrandmother and four of her siblings were found in a sharecropper's shack somewhere near Augusta back in the early 1900s. The parents were dead or dying, and the children were split up among nearby families. My ggrandmother was Lula Mae (maiden name unknown, although she eventually married a Reeves and later a Walker), and her brother was OC, adopted into a family who gave him the last name Allen. There was at least one other sister.

Does this sound like anyone you know? I would love to connect with some long-lost kin.

I had a great-uncle Homer Taylor. I remember them visiting us when I was a child. Did your Homer Taylor have sisters named: Fannie Mae, Omer, Marie, Velma?
I cannot remember where mine was buried or even his wife's name but will post later.

Not sure who you are but I am Kay. You are correct my grandmother was a Taylor but her name was Marie but pronounced more like Mary --not sure where that came from.

There is unknown plot of Confederate soldiers at Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC. Recently, I came across a list of soldiers, who died in March 1865. From what I gather, he may very well be one of the unmarked graves. One needs to consider the Yankees were coming and going and no time for railroad to take the bodies.

In the 1910 census she is listed as Lily Jackson, married with four children and listed as a mulatto. She lived a few houses down from her mother/bothers. (they lived at family #36 she lived at family #42)

Good news! I did recently find her nephew Jake Jr alive and well, currently we are corresponding.

Take a look at where Johh Hylow was in 1910 and 1920.
