I am seeking information on my g-g-g-g-g-g-g-grandfather, Bartlett BROWN (b. abt. 1737, VA - d. abt 1784, Burke Co., GA or Barnwell Co., SC).

In 1768, Bartlett is living in Barnwell Co., SC. His son, Benjamin Borwn, files a deed which states: "I am the legal heir to Barlett Brown, dec'd of Berk [Burke] Co., GA ... " This document is the first hint that Bartlett was in GA.

Bartlett was married to Katherine Holcomb (b/d unknown).

Their children: Sarah Brown (1st m. James Wilson) (2nd m. John Cave, Jr.); Bartlett Brown, Jr. (m. Patience Overstreet); Benjamin Brown (m. Cynthia Overstreet); William Brown; John Brown; James Brown; Joseph Brown; Mary Brown (m. Richard Snowden Kirkland).
