Hi Luan,its been while since I have done research ,but I will check to see what I have in my files . I think most all my data is on my tree on ancestry.com ,I will double check on that as well .
There are some RENTZ folks buried in Evergreen Cem. in Hamilton County ,near some of my LANGFORDS .I think there is some sort of connection there .

Betty, this is my family. William and Charity Herndon were my great-great grandparents. Their daughter Sarah Herndon married Charles Alexander Rentz and were the parents of my paternal grandmother, Minnie Lucretia Rentz. I would also like to find out more information on this line, especially where William and Charity might be buried. Some of the other family are buried at Ft. Call Cemetery but I was never able to find a marked grave for William or Charity. Also no obituary in any newspaper of the time. Would like to share/trade info. Thanks, Luan Yawn Harper

Hope someone can help. Looking for info on g.mother. The full name as known is Katherine Ida Davis Waters. Have info after she married grandfather Smith Waters. Looking for info on early years AND Davis side of family. Seem to remember someone saying that there was a connection to Mr. Dupree. Have found where Bryant Dupree and Selina married and had children. There are also children listed as Davis as stepchildren. If I am right, my g.mother was at the age to fall throught the cracks on the census since she was born in 1901, and married in the 1920 census. She was known by Ida. Any info would be app. TY

I believe that Moses Alonzo Blackwelder was the son of Martin Van Buren Blackwelder who was the son of the civil war veteran Moses Blackwelder.

Moses Blackwelder's grave was destroyed and not moved by the road department. Susie Blackwelder Thomas (my mother)(John Jackson Blackwelder-> Martin Van buren Blackwelder -> Moses Blackwelder) and Charly Blackwelder (her first cousin) and myself searched for the remains of the headstone but could not find it. I contacted the United Daughters of the Confederacy and a headstone was erected (along with 15 other confederate soldiers) at New Zion Cemetary which is between Lake City, Lulu, and Providence, Florida. Please note that the headstone only is at New Zion and not the grave itself. Rita Thomas Strattan

Seeking information on George W. Todd born 1851 Ga.and died 1929 in Union Co., FL, buried at New Hope Primitive Baptist Cemetery in LaCrosse. Married to Thena Ann Shaw and 2nd marriage to Lolier Thomas. I cannot verify his parents and there is no death certificate filed with the state of Florida.

I contacted the church and all records prior to the 1940s were burned. Our family has been searching for more info on him, particularly photos of him and his wives. Thanks.

P.S. I also have Green ancestors. Jesse T. Green, son of Daniel Green, b. 1815 GA marr. Keziah Christianity Crews, dau. of Joseph Crews & Elizabeth Mitchell Crews on 10 Dec. 1835. Their daughter Kisanna Christianity, b. 05 Nov. 1846, marr. my ggfather James Madison Stokes.

A lot of the Green family settled in Bradford Co., FL around Heilbron Springs.

Hello: I have Murrhee ancestors. Sarah Harris Murrhee (1826-1892), dau. of Edward P. & Mary "Pollie" Slade Murrhee, marr. my ggggfather Henry E. Stokes (1824-1865).

Sarah's sibs. were Hester,Mary C., Edw. Jefferson, Wm. F. & Harriet(?).

The Murrhees were French Huguenots who fled France because they were being forced into Catholicism and settled in the Satilla River Valley in So. GA.

Will exchange info.

She married Stephen Dennis Andrews (my ancestor) and they had five children and then she married your Hollinsworth ancestor. My relatives are Andrews and Parrish but I can not find a link to her on the Parrish side yet. Do you have pictures of her? if not I have a few.

There is a Moses Blackwelder and a Moses Alonzo Blackwelder butied at Swift Creek Cemetery in Union county, Florida. There are no dates on the site where the names are but I believe this to be the Moses Blackwelder you are looking for.

Nathan and Mary were my gg grandparents. They had a child named Mary Guinn who married Benjamin Franklin Davis. Mary and Benjamin (Frank) had a daughter named Aline Mary Davis and Aline is my mother. Sounds as though we have a connection.

I saw an old post from you on the Murrhee family. I have an ancestor, Edward P. Murrhee, b. 1783 GA who married Mary E. "Pollie" ______, b. 1795; marr. ca. 1815. Had a dau. Hester Murrhee,b. 1816, who marr. 1st Wiley Wainwright on 19 Feb. 1835; 2nd Ezekiel O'Steen; marr. 10 June 1841. Second dau. Mary C., b. 1822, marr. James Wainwright, Jr., 09 Feb. 1841. Third dau. was SARAH MURRHEE, who marr. my ancestor, HENRY E. STOKES, ca. 1845. Henry died in the Civil War. Edward & Mollie had two sons: Edward J. & William F.

Do you know what happened to the Murrhee family. They lived in the Camden/Charlton Co., GA area when SARAH & HENRY
married. Did the family move to Bradford Co., FL?

I don't have any information concerning where Moses was originally buried, but his grave is included with 15 other graves of Confederate soldiers at New Zion. I have Blackwelder relatives, an uncle now deceased Marcus Arlis Blackwelder, who married my mother's sister Ina Blackwelder. I believe they are buried in the Apopka area.

Moses Blackwelder is not buried in New Zion Cemetery, the marker at New Zion is a Memorial Marker, that he will not be forgotten. The orginal burial site was at one time owned by a Mr. Hall (During 1960's). He kept the site intact as long as he lived. Since his death, the land has changed hands several times and the grave must have been destroyed. So this is the reason the Memorial Marker was installed for him at New Zion. This Memorial Marker was dedicated on 29 April 2000 along with one for Thomas Gaskins.

I believe I have found the listing you are speaking of it has a photo of the headstone on site. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to send you to my site where I hope to have a photo of all the stones loctaed in Union County however for now and because I know you would like to have it as soon as possible I found it for you. I didn't find his name listed on the blackwelder cemetery however I did find it in New Zion so here is the link to what I found hope it is what you are looking for. Sapp Cemetery is located in Raiford, Fl. You might be able to find his tombstone on www.findagrave,com.
John Henry Tucker Dowling 1813-1860 is my 3rd greatgrandfather, he also is buried in Sapp Cemetery with a military headstone.

Florida State Prison has
several prisons on there
property.

If you go to findagrave.com and look for
Florida State Prison you will find Mr.Dyess.
I hoope this helps.

You also might contact Bradford county Library and see if
they have addtional info.

John Henry Dowling 1844-1914 CSA soldier is buried in the Sapp Cemetery. Looking for a photo of his grave marker. Does anyone know where the Cemetery is located and if there is a site with the Sapp Cemetery listings?

I am researching the Dowlings who served in the CSA.
Any information about the cemtery would be appreciated.

I do have a Thomas Blackwelder, born around 1861 in North Carolina. His father is Moses Blackwelder, b 1829, d 1919. This a different Moses Blackwelder, though, than the one that is buried in Union County. I believe this is the same as your Thomas Neil Blackwelder

I,m sorry I can't help you with your query on the location of Moses Blackwelder's grave-site, but I'm hoping you might be able to help me with some information. My Great-Grandfather was Thomas Neil Blackwelder, b.22 Dec 1860. I was told by my Grandmother that her grand- father was M.B. Blackwelder. I am thinking this could be Moses Blackwelder.
