In researching my family I found out that my paternal grandmother Mary E. [Bridges] Mitchell's father Ivey Bridges had a sister Mary Bridges that was married to a Raulerson from Seminole County I do not know his first name. I have been searching heritage quest online if I find out anymore I will post the info.

Talked to a lady at the cemetery today and found out info on carrie m. mitchells site directions are 1st addition north of section H unplotted single grave space 67 from south of east end starts at hardy avenue Hope this helps loooking forward to the photos Susan no markers or headstone

Susan,

I already checked the cemetery site and have all the plots. Sanford pretty much stays the same. The downtown/historic district was re-done a couple years ago and they have a very nice dock/park on Lake Monroe now. Also.. the Seminole Town square is all new. It is a HUGE mall and shopping district only a few miles from downtown. I will do my best to get the photos to you this week, probably wed or thursday if that is ok. Take care, Roger

If you go to genealogy.com click on social security death index type in last name and state you might be able to get what you are looking for that is where I found info on my florida family I am from seminole county, florida too Good Luck with your search

The only dog track that remains open is the Sanford-Orlando Kennel Club in Longwood, Fl. The other one closed several years ago. Dog Track Road originates at Fl 427 (now Ronald Reagan Blvd.) in Longwood and continues to US 17-92. When it crosses 17-92 the road becomes Seminola Ave into Casselberry. It then used to continue to the other racing track. I went to high school at Lyman which was right around the corner of Sanford-Orlando and our mascot was the greyhound. I am not sure which one was the harness racing track. But will glad to look it up for you. This interests me as I was raised in Lexington, Ky. and my father owned a plant nursery across the road from Calumet Farms on the Versailles Pike. They raised thorough breds. My uncles raised horses, some trotters and knew Ben White well. I have a feeling that you may be referring to Old Ben as he was the great trainer of harness horses. He wintered many a horse here in the Orlando area. Brings cack memories of my childhood.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to answer. My uncle was Richard "Dick" McMahan. He was the general manager for Calumet Farms and the Head trainer. He started with Mr. Wight in Illinois and he was the one that found Calumet farm for Mr. Wright when he was looking to move his farm from Illinois the Kentucy. Any information would be helpful.

Ernest was the brother of my Grandfather. He had two brothers and three sisters, all of whom I knew. He also had two sons and two daughters. Also whom I knew. I am presently taking care of his son George Edward who is 94 and in a bad stage of Alziemers.

I think my Aunt Thelma Jean lives in Lake Monroe she was married to my dad brother until his death in 1958. I could not find an obit using my online resources, just a death notice. The notice was published on the 30th, and the way that I read it is that Orlando Direct Cremation Service's handled his final arrangements.

But, there are 100+ in Sanford, 1 in Geneava,44 in Lake Mary and 3 in Lake Monroe.

Then that is a place to start. You realize that Mitchell is a common name. It would be best if you could put a given name in front. Dates are always helpful.
I would say that a death certificate an obit might be an assest that you could really use.
