I am descended from Florida Alice Dixon, daughter of Francis Marion Dixon and Martha Ann Cobb of Santa Rosa County, Florida. Florida Dixon married Thomas Mims. Their only daughter was Florida Mims. Her mother died after she was born and her father died when she was very young leaving her to be raised by her aunt and uncle. Florida Mims married Moses Kierce (my great-grandparents). They lived in Pensacola, Florida.

Florida Alice Dixon had a brother named Sylvester Dixon who died when he was 3 years old. Her sister Frances Elizabeth Dixon married Francis Daily in 1874 and had a daughter named Agnes Daily. She also married her cousin Wiley Benjamin Dixon in 1880. They had no children.

My grandfather (Mims Moses Kierce) and his siblings have all passed on. My grandfather came to Texas when he joined the Army in 1929 and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. His sister Lois Kierce married Fred Fahrny and moved to Ohio. His brother Marshall Kierce married Clyde Angle. They lived in Ohio for many years and later moved to Alabama. His brother Thomas Kierce was born in Texas. He died in Colorado in 1924. The rest of his siblings stayed in the Milton/Pensacola area. His brother Roy Kierce married Martha Penn and his sister Eloise Kierce married Clyde Hall.
