Yes! We are cuzins..or very possibly! You are the first I have met of all my HALL's who I am almost positively related to..if we are not it surely is a strong coincidence!
Here is all I know of my
Hall lineage:
Noah
Hall was born about 1805 in
North Carolina. He married someone named Matilda (surname unknown) who was born about 1807 in
Georgia, per census.
Noah
Hall obtained two land patients in 1838 in
Bullock Co., AL but seems to have disappeared in 1840. (I believe he also had a brother named Daniel D. Hall but do not know what happened to him after 1840 either. In 1837 I believe Daniel obtained two land patents in
Butler Co., AL.
Matilda
Hall was received in Mariah
Baptist Church of
Christ on 20 June 1831 and excluded on 18 October 1842. (*She may have missed a few services in a row..)
Children of
Noah Hall and Matilda are:
1.) LUCINDA
Hall born about 1833 in
AL2.) Giles
Hall b. about 1839 in
AL3.) Hiram
Hall b. about 1841 in
AL4.) Mary
Hall b. about 1843 in
AL5.) Calvin
Hall b. about 1845 inAL (*This is my ancestor)
6.) Allen
Hall b. about 1847 in
AL7.) Thomas
Hall b. about 1849 in
AL.
*There may be others*
Does any of this sound familiar to you??
My ancestor, Calvin, disappeared sometime after having three children by his wife, Matilda.. We believe his family had a hauling business, with wagons, and traveled a good deal.
Calvin m. Martha Elizabeth
LYNCH who was born 29 June 1843 and died 18 July 1933. (Georgiana,
Butler Co., AL). Family story is that she traveled *up* from the Pensacola area of FL where she had come in by ship..from Ireland. Maybe with family, but I do not know as yet. Also do not know if she married Calvin in FL or AL..or where.
We do not know what happened to Calvin or where he died or is buried.
The three children of Calvin and Martha were:
1.) William born about 1860. Family (oral) information is that he died of malnutrition at about 10 years of age. I do not know if this is true, or where he is buried.
2.) Mary M. Hall born 1864 in
AL, married L.C. Moseley (I do have contact with one of her descendants). Great Aunt Mary and
Uncle L.C. are buried at Union Church Cemetery, near Georgiana,
Butler Co., AL. They had a large family of children.
3.) Matilda
Hall b. 14 March 1867 (*my ancestress), married
Burrell Temple PATRICK on 14 June 1899 in
Greenville,
Butler Co., AL. Matilda was my maternal great grandmother. Matilda was
Burrell Temple Patricks third wife, and mother of two of his (many) children. One was my maternal grandmother,
Ada Rebecca PATRICK.
As you can see, Calvin named one of his daughters for his mother, and one for a sister..so names are a link in this lineage it seems, which is a *help*!
Lots more to share if you think this is your line!
You may e-mail me directly as well as posting to this board if you like!
