Looking for Birth/Marriage/Death records on Jimmie Izetta Swain and her husband, Norman Talmadge in West Palm Beach Florida between 1910-1970.
Jimmie's birth c/ 13 Nov 1910 Pike County, Ala., nothing known of Talmadge Norman.
Jimmie is listed as Mrs Talmadge Norman of West Palm Beach Florida in her Mother's Alabama obituary in 1959.

Appreciate any help available on this family.

Bingo! Thought I'd better post this since I've had so much help researching this family on the message board. I found a Jennie Moore who married Michelrain D. Soosar in Dade Co., FL in 1938. I then found Jennie Octavia Soosar who died in Dade Co., FL in 1953. This has to be Jennie Octavia Moore who was the sister of Thomas J. Moore and John Jacob Moore all of Kentucky who ended up in Florida. They were 3 of the children of John Robert Moore and Elizabeth "Bettie" Godbey/Godby. Thank you to everybody who helped me.

With a little research, and alot of good luck.

I was reading some of the previous posts, finding Thomas buried at Woodlawn Cemetery. The Find a Grave website has a listing for Thomas and wife Mary who died in 1938.

pilot.familysearch.org has Florida Deaths 1877-1939
Mary's info was listed here at the pilot site. It is basically the same info that would be listed on one's death certificate.

I just tried to post this message but something happened so hope I'm not repeating myself. I found the same information as you yesterday when I did some searching. I'm glad that you confirmed my results. The reason I was looking for an obituary is that I'm trying to find Thomas J.'s sister Jenny O. Moore who disappears after the 1930 Jefferson Co., Ky census where she was living with brother John Jacob Moore. She was born in Ky in 1877. Her name was Octavia Jenny but she went by Jenny O. Moore. John Jacob Moore turns up in Miami, Florida where he married and then died in 1968. I'm wondering if Jenny moved to Florida also to be near her 2 brothers Thomas J. & John Jacob Moore. I sent for an obituary for John J. but it provided no information. Thank you for all your help.

Have you seen him on the Florida State 1945 or 1935 census? You can browse the images only at http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#... so you'd have to know where he was in 1935/1945. Would seeing him in the city directories be helpful? Have you searched for him at Ancestry.com? If you don't have a subscription, you could still get an idea of where he might have been by the search results. Alternately, you could search Ancestry.com Library Edition at a library. Depending on where you are, you might want to check with the library first, to see if they subscribe to Ancestry. Ancestry has digital images of WWI and WWII draft registration cards.

Have you thought about obtaining his birth certificate? You could find out the names of his parents and possibly his siblings and get information about him that way.

Have you also tried searching for him at WorldConnect at http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi? Perhaps someone else has researched his family and listed him.

It sounds like you have already done a lot, so I hope some of this helps.

I'm not familiar with the "Palm Beach obit index." I believe the obituary index at America's Obituaries and Death Notices, through the Palm Beach County Library portal (Electronic Databases) at http://www.pbclibrary.org/, begins in 1985 for Palm Beach County.

There is a Thomas J. Moore who died in April 1960 in Palm Beach County in the Florida Death Index (Ancestry.com).

I suggest you contact the Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County at ancestry@bellsouth.net and request a lookup.

Susan, Just me again. You wouldn't happened to have Lynn's mothers obit also. Her name was Elizabeth Virginia Harding Baquie. She went by Virginia or Ginny. She was born 3 Aug 1913, MN and died 8 Oct 2001. Think she died in Stuart, FL.
She was married to Joseph Carl Baquie.

There are four articles in the Miami Herald from 1984 and 1985 that mention the attack on Iris. None of those articles mention family or place of burial. A copy of her death certificate for $5.00 would give you her burial location.

STUART - J. Carl Baquie, 89, of Stuart died Monday, May 26, 1997, in West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
A native of New Orleans, he lived in Stuart for 30 years. He moved here from San Francisco. He was a cotton broker.
He served in the Coast Guard and was captain of a transport vessel during World War II. He was a member of the Cruising Club of America. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Baquie of Stuart; a daughter, Lynn Baquie of Stuart; a grandson, Ronde Baquie of Stuart; and a brother, Gordon Baquie of Louisville, Ky. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Stuart. Those who wish may contribute to the Treasure Coast Humane Society.

When you do a public records search of Mortimer Weichman, Lillian Weichman is right there along side him. From about 1977 thru his death. Record search for Lillian has records in Palm Beach thru 1994. An Intelius. com search has her in Boynton Beach, FL, age 98 and no associated people with that name.There are 4 Weichman's in the Boynton Beach area in the phone book.None w/ the 1st name of Lillian.

* Iris McGarvey , 77, was struck with a stick and knocked to the ground in July 1982 in a purse-snatching near her apartment on South Olive Street in West Palm Beach. Her head hit the pavement, fracturing her skull. She died a few days later.

Since you discovered these cousin's on the Florida death index and are looking for more details. Why don't you request a Florida death certificate from The State of Florida? That should give you all the information you Need.That way you can verify Bessie's Exact birth date rather than census info. It should also give you funeral home informatiom. $5.00 and a couple of weeks should get you what you NEED.
