Elzay LEWIS/Martha Eliza LAMPP family

Looking for help with Elzay P. LEWIS, buried in Edgewood Cemetery; wife Martha Eliza LAMPP. Is he the "Elisha", b 1865, GA, son of James Pierce LEWIS & Susannah Amanda CRANE who lived in Hillsborough County? James Pierce had a son Elisha Perry, b 1865-7. Anyone have proof for parents of Elzay P. LEWIS who married 1887 in Hillsborough Co Martha Eliza LAMPP (1870-1943). The 1900 Orange Co census is hard to read, it could be "Elija P. Lewis with wife Martha E. and daughters Frances A. and Ruth A. I have not found this family in the 1910 or 1920 census; but Martha is listed in the 1930 Orange Co census with son Pierce E., 19 yrs. Any information will be helpful. Many thanks.

How long did it take to get a degree, did nurses do rotations and if so, for how long, etc. The time period would be around the 1950's. TIA for all your help

Hello,

I am hoping to make contact with some aquanted with the family of Wright Murphy Carter. Wright Carter is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando. He died in 1909. In the 1900 Census, he is living in the household of his daughter Mary Lou Helms and her husband Frank L. Helms. Both of whom are buried in Greenwood Cemetery. Wright also had two sons by a previous marriage. One of these sons also moved to Orlando Florida. His name was Charles Reeves Carter and he and his wife Julia Walton Ector are also buried in Greenwood Cemetery. I have been told that Charles Reeves Carter was an Orlando City Police officer. He died in 1930.

Charles had children named: Wright, Nevada, Hector (or Ector), Marie A, Charlie H, and Nellie W. Carter.

Mary Lou Carter Helms and her husband Frank had children named: Donald C., Ula, Eda S., Aldes A., Malcom T., and Medelia Helms.

I am desperately seeking a photo of Captain Wright Murphy Carter. He was the Captain of a Georgia Sharpshooter and Infantry Company. Any help tracking down a photo would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible that he died in Sep 1961? I had a little extra time at the Orlando library and found this obituary:

Orlando Sentinel, 20 Sep 1961, page 8B
Mr. Frank Rock, 80, 1323 40th street, died Monday. Wife, Mary E..; three daughters and one son, all fo New York State, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive. Carey Hand Funeral Home is in charge.

Also:
Orlando Sentinel, 21 Sep 1961, Funeral Notices
Rock, Mr. Frank - Funeral services for Mr. Frank Rock, 80, 1323 40th street, who died Monday, will be held in the Carey Hand Chapel, Thursday at 10 a.m., with Mr. Donald B. Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn, memorial Park. Mr. Rock came to Orlando in 1949 from Ticonderoga, N.Y. He was a member of Jehovah Witnesses. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Rock; three daughters and one son in New York State; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Carey Hand Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Last... there is a marriage of a Frank Rock with a Mary E. Patrick McFarland that took place in 1950 in Orange County (per vital records index... no further info except the certificate number which I did not write down).

Hope this helps,
Lisa

I am looking for a kind soul who would go to the main library and help me obtain an obituary for Edward C. Austin, he was buried in Palm cemetery 01/01/1947 so I would guess he would have died the last couple of days in 1946, I called and the minimum charge is $30.00, that's seems pretty hefty for an obit. I do not live there. but I would be glad to return the favor sometimes.
Thanks
Tom

I would also like to thank you for the information. I am a great-grandson of GW Smith and Nettie Smith Garrett. Granddad (their son Irvin L.) always told us she had married 4 times, twice to a Smith (the marriages ended in death, divorce, death, divorce). Uncle James, then, was his half-brother (his full siblings were William and Laura). There are some family stories as to why GW is buried where he is buried (his sister Lily Angel is listed as having paid for the plots at Greenwood). This alone would keep me interested in an account with ancestry.com.

1926 Obit lookup for Theodore Martin

I am looking for an obituary of Theodore F. Martin. He died in Orlando at the El Rado Hotel, Feb. 27, 1926. I found an obit in a Hopkinsville, KY paper where he was from, but I would like one from Orlando. He had been living at the hotel for about 4 years. He was the father of the opera singer, Riccardo Martin. I feel like it would have probably been in the paper. Also looking for info on the El Rado Hotel (mentioned in another post).

El Rado Hotel, Orlando?

I found an obituary for a Theodore F. Martin (died March 5, 1926 in Orlando), which says he was staying at the El Rado Hotel on the corner of East Pine and Main St. The obit says he had been staying there for approx. 4 years. Does anyone have information about this hotel? I looked at a 1919 Sanborn map and don't see it on there.
