Judy, thank you, thank you! My sons' ancestor is Josiah King, with known brothers of Perry, Jack, & Edwin, settling here in Citrus County. I recently viewed census, learning the name of their mother, Maria. Now, you have handed me additional info for my sons family tree. May I ask where can I go to document this info? Josiah, his son James Walker, his son Theodore R., and his son Theodore R II. are all buried in the Magnolia Cemetery, Lecanto, Citrus Co. Fl.

I have the Last Will and Testament of Thomas King 3rd, that list the children and the wife. I also have numerous documents and Land Records from John, Thomas, Edwin, Josiah, and Maria King. Also have documents proving Maria was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Woodland. I have entered John King, Father of Thomas King 3rd in the DAR.

Do you have further information you could share on George Holzendorf? I see that he is in Nassau Co. FL in 1850, but it looks like he is in Columbia Co. GA in 1860 -- same name and trade (tin smith), but wife's name is Elisabeth. Would this be the same man? On this 1860 census, George and Elisabeth have one daughter Mary, 1 > son, John 11 and son, William 9 -- listed in that order. On the 1870 Columbia Co. census, George is now George W. Holzendorf, and the children are Mary E., John L. and George W.

Searching for information on THOMAS KING III, sons John King and Hiram King. Would anyone have any infomation on this family. Supposedly, THOMAS KING III died in Camden County, Georgia, 1836. John and Hiram went to Mississippi Territory and lived ther lives there as John Adam and Hiram Adams.

THOMAS KING III was hung in Camden County Georgia at the Jefferston Court House Hanging Tree in 1835.

His sons HIRAM and JOHN KING went to Clarke County Mississippi in the 1830's and lived under the surname-ADAMS.
HIRAM and his wife died there in the 1843. They had one son (Elias Thomas Adams)and JOHN KING Adams was his Guardian

I am in touch with several descendants of the JOHN ADAMS who have no doubt that he was JOHN KING...JOHN was buried on the old Hiram estate I was told...of course, LOGGERS have razed the area and seeded with pines (Mississippi) so most feel the burial site would never be found. However, I am very curious.

I am a decendant of John Adams, recently who learned about Adams/King connection, I find this all very fascinating, I am craving more information.
