i tried to find info on ancestry but no Albert F. listed
in their census in Hillsboro Co. Fl.
I did find a death date for an ALBERT F. ESCUELA that died 9 April, 1998. He was bn. Nov. 11, 1948.He was 49 yrs. However, I guess you had that ifo.
Also have an ABELARDO ESCUELA that emigrated to Tampa
in 1895 from Havana, Cuba. Did you have a DULCE ESCUELA
in the family. There was one that died in Hillsboro co.
in 1918. Her age was not given. There were numerous
Domingo's to Tampa.
It has been difficult to find anything on Ancestry
censu in the past month. Hopefully, it will be
fixed soon. The census only go to 1930.
I'm sorry I could not find more for you.
Phyllis
I am not sure if anyone is going to read this, being the last post was 08/99. I will try anyways.... My name is Anastasia Escuela and I am 30 years old. My father's name was Albert Frank Escuela. He was born November 11, 1948. I never met my grandfather but his name was Albert Escuela also. From the stories I have heard, he was a foster child, he drove a taxi cab for a long time, and he was one of the sweetest men one could ever meet. I don't know much about my past but would really like to. I reside in Tampa, Fl and have been here all my life. Well I'm not going to write too much being that I think that this is an abandoned site, if not email me.

Peacon, Russell, Knowles.

I just wanted to add to the Peacon-Russell connection. Richard Peacon and Susan Jane Russell's daughter, Eliza Peacon, is my great-great grandmother. Eliza Peacon married John Knowles. Their daughter, Charlotte Knowles, is my great grandmother. Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about these family lines.

Thanks! I'd totally forgotten about this posting ( it was TEN YEARS AGO!) . In the past 10 years, I've discovered that the last name wasn't FARRINGER, but FERINGA. I found my Grace Augusta WALDRON married to a Rev. Nicholas Matthew FERINGA. They married in Manhattan, NY in 1928, and both died in Florida.. Him in Jun 1982, and her in Dec 1964. At some point they had lived in Key West FL ( hence my posting here) , and her obituary indicates she died suddenly at sea.

Thanks for the contact!

One specific piece of info I am looking for is whether any of the earliest Thrifts or Friths are known to have moved to Georgia. Robert T Thrift appeared there (Washington County GA) in ~1802 when he has maybe 22 years old, and I'm looking for his family & ancestors. (A descendant of his is in the Thrift /Frith /Firth surname DNA project, there is some info there.)

Richard Thrift

I have started a DNA project so we can learn which families of Thrift, Frifth, Frith etc are related to each other, and which are separate lines. I hope to use this info to share resources and knowledge for each line. I would love to get members from Key West & the Caribbean region. Please join the Thrift /Frith /Firth surname DNA project if you are a male with one of these surnames. If you aren't then perhaps you can influence someone else to join. If the cost of the test is an issue, a free DNA test is available, sponsored by SMGF, a respected research foundation.

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Thrift-Frith-Firth/

Further, can you help me with family tree info? I'd like to get family trees for these people, especially people before ~1850 or so with these surnames.

Richard Thrift
rtx (at) cox (dot) net

Flossie Roberts 1888-1889 Key West Fl.

On a recent trip to Key West Florida, I went to the cemetery for a look around.

There are so many interesting and sad tombstones. It was a very facinating place. It seems a lot of children met an early end in this place.

One in particular caught my attention.

The small marker reads:

Flossie Roberts, daughter of John and Mary Roberts. July 18th, 1888 - May 1st. 1889.

Lovely bud so soft and fair called hence by early doom. Just sent to show how such a flower in paridise would bloom.

My husband and I were taken aback my the sadness and beauty of the inscription, and lingered a moment to talk to her and put a flower on her stone. We felt a little silly welling up over this person we never knew, and could not help but feel like she must be lonely after all these years in that ancient graveyard.

I have searched high and low for any record of the girl or her parents in Key West. I have so many questions. Who was she, what happened to her, did her parents live on in Key West of move away...?

If you happen to have any knowledge of this little girl or her family, please let me know. Thanks, Angela

morphia77@yahoo.com

It was listed because it contained information that may be helpful to anyone looking for family in Florida.

I would appreciate assistance in making sure the listing is accurate and complete and especially if more information exists online that I am unaware of.

Please send me corrections and additions to T42@MyCemeteries.com or just reply here.
(Allen Wheatley)

She had 3 children--Lola Olive, my grandmother was the oldest--other two were girls, but I cant remember names at the moment. She was married to a Claud Messinger for a short time and I think he was the father of the 3 girls.
The only thing that fits in the name Grace Waldron and the birth year is about right.
Hope this helps in some way!

I am reseaching the Peacons from Key West. My husband is descended from Charlotte Peacon the daughter of Matthew and Maria. She was the sister of Richard Peacon. How are you related? I never received a reply from the person doing the family project unsure whether it was completed

Jackie Roberts
