Surnames: Corbett, Gates
Lilla Corbett Gates, first wife of Dr. Hubbard Gates died May 9, 1910. She may have been buried in Lake Pond, Georgia where her family lived, but she may have been buried in Manatee County. Can someone check the burial records for that date and see if her name is listed? She was my great grandmother and after her death there was some problem between her brothers and my grandfather was never allowed to contact the Corbett family, much to my regret now!

The assumtion is that there are burial records from those yrs. That might not be the case. You might try looking for an obit, since she was a Dr's wife. You might try contacting the historical society and see if the have been cemetery books for the ones in that county.
Same with the GA. connection.
Good Hunting,

I checked the Tombstone Inscriptions of Manatee County with no luck on Lilla Gates. Hubbard Gates is buried in Manasota Memorial Park, but that cemetery was not opened until 1925.
One of their sons Olin E is buried in Fogartyville cem which is an older cemetery in the county.

Thank for looking at the burial records. I had found Hubbard and Max Gates and several other gravesite while I was so lucky to visit Bradenton over a year ago. I hope to return sometime and gather more data and photos. I am almost sure that she was buried in Lake Park, Georgia, where her family was. But, time and more research will tell.
