Hi, My mother-in-law is an Ishie, the last in her direct family, her name if Minnie and she lives in Levy County. Her mother was Sara Meeks. I would be interested in any information you have on Ishie..have been having trouble finding very much, though am getting there...the biggest problem having is finding our her grandmother's name, her grandfather was Frederick and he left on a ship and no one heard from him again...but her father John, nor uncles would discuss their mom or dad. Thanks for any help.

My grandmother was an Ishie, daughter of William Franklin Ishie. Appears that there may be some information we have that can be shared between us and Karen. How can I access your web page ? and what would be the best way for us to share that information ?

Thomas Prevatt, Jr., was my 3-great grandfather. I presume that you know the Prevatt line back to the Huguenot Pierre, who settled in Manakin Town, Virginia, in 1700. My 3-great uncle Thomas King Prevatt and 2-great uncle Thomas Prevatt Davis served together in Company B, 8th Florida Infantry Regiment, in Confederate service. My 2-great grandmother Clarissa Prevatt Davis raised Thomas King Prevatt's children after he died in the service. How do you come down from the Prevatts?

Also... what Whites do you relate back to?

My parents happened to marry in Levy County during WWII, but that was a total accident... a result of a weekend pass for dad from Camp Blanding and a taxi ride from Gainesville to Bronson. So far as I know, my relatives in Levy County are limited to Havens. William George Haven, Sr., was the brother of my 2-great grandfather John Shepard Haven (not to be confused with William George Haven's son by the same name).

But my favorite cousin when I was a kid, was John Allen Osteen, Jr. His father John Allen Osteen, Sr., as I understand it was a son of John Fisher Osteen. He married my great aunt Annie Eliza Haire. I understand the Osteens to have been from Levy County.

So... Do I have Prevatt and/or White kinfolks in Levy County? I'm missing a lot of information on my White family members. I tried to access the web page you mentioned, but it appears to no longer exist.
