My Father's grandfather, THADEAUS ARKANSAS SMITH, was born in Williston, Levy County, FL circa 1860. Married VICTORIA HIGHSMITH sometime in the late 1800's probably in Levy County,FL.They had 5 children that I am aware of.

1)(my grandfather)WALTER RALEIGH SMITH(8/23/1886-1958)born in Bronson, Levy County,FL.
2)OLIVE "OLLIE" SMITH
3)ANNIS SMITH
4)BILL SMITH
5)LANE SMITH

The 1850 census for Levy County,FL shows: AARON SMITH(40)with 3 children,Julia(10), James(8), and Mary(6). No Wife is shown. Since Thadeaus was born in 1860, perhaps this was his family. Have not found the 1860 or 1870 census as yet.

I did find a marriage record list that shows: Thaddeus Smith married Victoria WILKINSON on 3/25/1880. The timeframe would be correct but the family always thought that her maiden name was "HIGHSMITH". Like all family memories this could be wrong.

WALTER RALEIGH SMITH (my grandfather) married MAMIE LUCIA BELK,from Bartow,FL, daughter of JOHN WILLIAM BELK & SARAH ALICE LEONARD. They lived in the Bartow,FL-Mulberry,FL area and had 4 children.

(1)(My father)PLATT THADEUS SMITH(1910-1990),married MARY LOUISE HIGHSMITH(1913-1991)and had one wonderful child. ME !
(2)TRAMMEL OGLESBY SMITH married LOUISE HIGBEE (No Children)
(3)HILDA SMITH married ROBERT GUNN
(4)NILA SMITH married EUGENE FREEMAN

Lucia and Walter divorced and both remarried. Don't know who Walter's second wife was. Lucia married ALLEN ENGLAND NORMAN and had a daughter EMELINE NORMAN

Appreciate any connections for either HIGHSMITH or BELK or SMITH lines.

All of these would be in Florida mid 1800's to early 1900's.
