The Rev Marion Monroe Williams, 78, of Graceville, dided Jan 22, 2000 at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital following an extended illness.
The Rev Williams was born on April 30, 1921 in Bonifay, living the early years of his life in Marianna, moving to Graceville in 1954. He was a U S Navy veteran of World War II. The Rev Williams was called into the ministry in 1971, in which he pastored the Graceville Church of God for many years, ministrered at the Jackson County Convalescent Center. He was the founder of the singing group the Williams Sisaters. The Rev Williams was a dispatcher and truck driver for Summerford Truck Lines and retired from Gold Kist Peanut Corp in 1986 following 31 years of service.
Funeral services were Jan 23rd at the Graceville Community Church with the Rev Wayne Fussell, the Rev Preston Owens, the Rev Dale Worley, and the Rev James Gilbert officiating. Burial followed in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 56 years, Mrs Cleavelene Scott Williams of Graceville; son and daughter-in-law DOnald and Beth Williams of Dothan, Alabama; daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and David Bynum of Albany, Georgia; Nancy and Ray (sic)of Greensboro, North Carolina; Janice and James "Luke" Fulp (sic)of Greensboro, North Carolina; Janice and James "Luke" Watford (sic) of Graceville; Cindy and Kenny Fulp (sic) of Greensboro, North Carlina (sic) and Jean and David Horton of Graceville; brother and sister-in-law Milous and Rose Williams of Leesburg, Florida; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
