The 1880
Madison County,
Florida census has William Courtney, age 42, with wife, "Ranie", 35; children Isaac, 11; Adam, 7;
Sallie, 5; and Ellen, 3. If this is the same family (and I believe it is since the names match those we are researching) I wonder why they were in
Madison County, which is probably about 160 miles from
Holmes County where they were in the early 1900's.
