I am a descendant of John Robert Gill and Caroline Moye, sister of George Moye. I have George's wife Amelia with the maiden name of BRATCHER. However, I don't know her birthplace. As for great great grandmother, Lucinda Plummer Moye, I have little information other than her birthdate 1820-1924. Some say she was Indian. She was born in Mitchell County, Georgia and married Richard Moye. Hope I have helped a little.

Looking for birthplace and maiden name of Amelia Moye, mother of my grandfather, Ralph M. Moye. My father is Marion S. Moye. Also, looking for info on Grandmother Lucinda Plummer Moye, mother of George (Amelia's husband).
It is my understanding that George and Amelia came to Limestone, Hardee Co. area to raise their family from Georgia.

My Coker and Roberts connections are from the same Hardee Co>Co. area. My grandmother, Vera V. Coker Moye, was born
in Limestone. Her mother was Julia Roberts and her father
was Joe Coker.

Sorry to be so long responding to your message. We lost my Daddy, Marion S. Moye, on December 23, 2000. Of course, his paternal grandparents were George and Amelia Moye. He was a wonderful father, and friend to many, and we will miss him.

He is buried in Sellers Cemetery in Jasper, Florida.

He is listed in the "Biographical Rosters of Florida's Confederate and Union Soldiers 1861 - 1865 Volume V.

According to Willye Simmons' (female) daughter Lillian Johnson, William Jackson Simmons Sr. and Emma Virginia Moye (b. 3/9/1868 d. 7/17/1945) was married on August 5, 1887 in Hamilton County, Jasper, Florida.

According to another distant cousin, the research she has done states that he was born in Charleston, SC.
