I am seeking information on the parents of Seedan Amanda Blount (Seedie) b. 30 October 1867 d. 02 April 1939. She married James Alexander Spear in 1887 and is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Gadsden County.Children included: Robert Lafayette, Julius Albert, Thomas Davis, Sitha A., Charles Brockett, Mary E., Martha V., Fanny, Lou, Lytle? and unknown female b. 1910.
I have a lot of information on the Spear side but cannot locate her parents. Any help would be appreciated.

You should request a death certificate from The State of Florida, depending on the infomant, they should be there. $5.00 and a couple of weeks and you should have it.
Good Hunting,

I don't know anything about Seedan Amanda Blount, but will be happy to pass on any information I happen to find about her. I am interested in William L. Spear, who married Mary Ann Wright Gholson, after her divorce from John E. Gholson. Less than 9 months after that, John R. Gholson was born. His first child was Julius Lytle Gholson, my mother's father. His second child was Richard Lafayette. I'm thinking that maybe William was a good stepfather (father?) to John R., and that may be why John R. used some Spear family names for his children.

It appears that William Spear did not survive the Civil War; oddly enough, he and his wife's former husband were imprisoned at Elmira prison in NY at about the same time. Was James Alexander a son of William's? Was Martha V a child of William & Mary Ann's? Were there other children? Do you know anything about Mary Ann Wright?

I would be very interested in your Spear family information.
