Hi Kristy, Hi Susan, maybe I can help.

This part of town, as far as what is in which county can be tricky. Keystone Heights for the most part is in Clay County, with it's most western area in Bradford County. From my understanding, the Speedville Community (once known as Brooklyn, hence Brooklyn Lake) is in southern/south western Keystone Heights (Clay and Bradford Counties). Melrose sits in Alachua, Bradford, Clay, and Putnam counties.

I was looking for an obit that mentioned Speedville Cemetery, along with the funeral home. Sometimes the funeral home websites will have the obits with directions to the cemetery. No luck in this case, but I did find an article on a Marine that is buried in the Speedville Cemetery. In that article it states that the cemetery is located on CR 21-B. Looking at a map, CR 21-B is in Alachua and Bradford counties.

I hope that I didn't confuse you any more, I think I did confuse myself though...

Here's the link to that article on the Marine
http://www.houseofproctor.org/genealogy/getperson.php?person...

Susan

I have not looked at the air/sat photo's but it sounds like you are talking about land that is or once was part of the Spencer property. You mentioned conversation with a developer. IF it was not Mr. Spencer, give him a try perhaps. He is a private person but quite friendly. If the place can be gotten to he seems like the kind of person who would make arrangements.

I'm right here in the Oakleaf area and have been trying to find a way into this cemetery. Anyone know if there is access yet?

Looking at the satellite image of the area, on Branan Field between the roads of Oakleaf Plantation and Plantation Oaks, there are two retention ponds with power lines going between them. That dirt road there travels under the power lines, but the entrance is fenced. It appears that if access to that road was obtainable, there is another dirt road just down a bit on the left that takes you directly to where the GPS coords say the cemetery is.

The second logical entrance (which of course is not accessible) is at the end of Oakleaf Village Parkway (aka Old Middleburg). At the end of that road is one of those PVC fences. I do not know if there's a way around that fence, but if there were, the road on the other side leads down to the main road under the power cables described above.

The third possible entrance I can figure is one that *might* be accessible and not gated in but it might take me looking a bit to see if it can be accessed. It might be with four wheeler. :)
Susan, The "other" Susan does not have an internet connection at the present time so that may have something to do with your not hearing from her. I can assure you, I will not post anything on the FlGenWeb Clay County site without it being credited to the submitter. That is true regardless of if the material is submitted by a member of the project or someone else who just happens to have material of interest to researchers. Please, if you ever find material on any Florida site that is yours but credited to someone else, let us know. I believe if you look at any photo's that you or her have posted to find a grave, for instance, you will find them to be unique.
When she said she is "rereading" she is referring, I believe, to checking what she finds on the stones against previously reported information but I could be wrong.

To Ann, I'm Ray Richard, I am a member of the FlGenWeb Project. Please, let me know if you find that any photograph or any other material, for that matter, belongs to you. We believe strongly in honoring copyrights. There are several people who I know of who photograph Cemeteries in and around Clay County. They do the work independently and without the slightest regard to if someone has already photographed a headstone in a cemetery. At least that is what I believe. I have spoken with two ladies named Susan, in fact, who both photograph headstones and whole cemeteries. It certainly does not infringe on another copyright to photograph something that someone else has photographed. As I am not a member of Ancestry, I can't email you directly so I hope you will attempt to email me at cove_man which is an address at comcast. net and I will be happy to discuss any concerns you have.

Looking for family data on William O'Neill married to Allie Marlowe

I am descended from Gladys O'Neill born to William O'Neill and Allie (Alice) Marlowe. He was the son of William O'Neill and Millie Jane (nee Quesinberry (or Cushingberry?)) Napier, born abt. 1871; and Allie was the daughter of Henry Marlow and Catherine McNaney, born abt. 1873.
I am looking for descendants, and any documentation about the family. There are so many William O'Neills in the records, and I am hoping someone from this family has a family tree that they could share with me that goes back to the roots in the UK, and info about how they got to America. I am interested in all the lines of the families!

If you have info to share, you can reach me at: ame2inspire@hotmail.com directly, or thru this forum. Thank you very much, Amy in The Netherlands

There is one that is knocked over up next to the church so we were unable to read that one. I didn't have a reference sheet for this one so I Just took it row by row. I will check Find a grave as I always ment to just time hasn't allowed much of anything except typing and taking more picture as I said I am working on two counties right now and going to be adding a third soon.
But I am more than happy to share my work I never intended this to be about me its about making sure they are all listed and documented for the future generations and thoes who are out of state or other wise unable to get them my personal email is Hardeegengal@yahoo.com I would love to swap stories with you and see if i have anything you might need.
Susan R.

I am not using anyone elses work I am redoing the work because I need the work for flagenweb I am not trying to discredit or use anyone elses work just updating the websight and taking photos to place with the work everyone who has posted work to fla gen web will always be there this will just be another listing with pics. I chose to redo the cemeteries as a hobbie before i joined gen web. I also research my own family lines and wanted to give a lil something back after finding alot of the graves destroyed of my own family members wanted to be sure that in each of the cem's i vist i could prove what i read as well as the fact I had did the work myself So I currently have copies of all my work that i will retain and update as new graves are added. I am not trying to upset anyone just trying to help thoes who may not be able to go get the info themself. I am sorry if I have ofended anyone as it was not and is not my intention.

Sorry I forgot to give you the link for Clay County My listings are not there yet Ray Is currently putting it all together. He is also speaking with a volenteer who has done a lot of work in Clay I am not sure who she is as I haven't been online much lately but all the info located or placed on fla gen web is the property of the donator and can not be used for profit it is all for free use for there own research. Therefore there are cemetery listings already there just haven't been updated in awhile hence the reason I am redoing them.

http://franmuse.com/clay.htm

It is my understanding that Federal Hill Cemetery is landlocked in the new Oak Leaf Plantation Development of off Brannan Field Road. You could contact Mr Bass at the Archives Center in Green Cove Springs, perhaps Claude could assist with contact info for the cemetery.
clayarch@bellsouth.net

I do have a listing of Mosley's for Federal Hill:
Emma J.; d. Nov 25 1926, age 62yrs
Mollie; b. May 27 1878 d. June 19 1901
W.R.; b. Oct 4 1892 d. Mar 20 1926
R.D.; b. Oct 28 1871 d. Jul 22 1922
Emma Lavinia; b. Jul 22 1882 d. Jan 19 1952
Vivian Mozelle; b. May 4 1909 d. Jul 14 1918
Dora Belle; b. Jul 1 1902 d. Aug 3 1903

If you need a cemetery look-up, let me know.

Hope this help,
Susan

Susan

Hey Susan,
Thanks for the update. When we (myself and Alton) photographed Long Branch last year, we were able to find all but about 10 or so from the original transcription that I have that was done in the late 60's I believe. I do get back to Long Branch from to time to update. My photo's can be found on Find a Grave. As of now, there are a little over 1600 listed.

Susan

Thanks Raymond for clarifying this. I will truley be interested to see just what information/photos are submitted to the GenWeb, and by who. Do you have a time frame as when you think this info will be available on the GenWeb?

Susan #2

Raymond,

This is one of those Susan's that transcribe/photograph cemeteries here in Clay County. Anyone can photograph without infringing upon someone else's copyright's, I agree.
The question is "WHO's" photographs are being used??

I have posted this question to your volunteer Susan, without a reply. She states in a the previous post
"I am currently rereading and taking the stone photos"
Rereading what????
Taking who's stone photo's????
Is Susan redoing all transcriptions herself?
Is she re-photographing all headstone's herself??

Ann and I have worked hard as a team to get Clay's cemetery information on the internet. If our work is being used, ALL that we ask is for CREDIT>>>>>>>>

Are you looking for information on Mosley's living in Clay County currently? Or a differant time frame?
Have you researched the censuses as to when they lived there? Do you have dates of death? Places of burial? Have you requested the death certificates of the older ones?
Frank
