Desire obituary for Merritt A. LOCKLIN who died Jun 1974 at Penny Farms, FL. His wife was Edna HUNTER LOCKLIN and she died Jun 1978 at Penny Farms. Was "Penny Farms" a town or a Sr. Community? Thank you for any help you can provide me. Diana in WA State

My online access to obituaries does not back far enough to find one for the Locklin's. May I suggest contacting the Jacksonville library in Duval County. They have The Florida Times Union on micro-film. If an obit was printed, this would be the newspaper.

I have found the Locklin's burial location, they are buried in Penney Farms Cemetery. This cemetery looks like it has three sections; Memorial Home Community Cemetery (back right), Penney Retirement Community Cemetery (front right), and Penney Farms Town Cemetery (left side). The Locklin's are in the back left of the Penney Farms Town section. I will be posting their headstone photos to findagrave.com. Any luck with an obit yet?

After checking the Florida Times-Union, the prevalent newspaper for Duval County, Florida, there was no obituary for Merrit S. Locklin between June 19, 1974 and June 24, 1974. There was no obituary for Edna C. Locklin in the Florida Time-Union between the dates of June 23, 1978 and June 27, 1978. Perhaps these individuals/heirs chose to not have an obituary published.
