I am quite confused, SS index shows Loren Harvey McEwen died in Homosassa Springs in Citrus county, FL. He is also listed as deceased in Iron Mountian Michigan per Michigan death index. I know this is the same person as he was my step father for many years, born May 21st 1926. I would like to get a coy of the death certificate, but not sure weather to go through FL or MI. SS# was 347-14-8437 he was born in Minot ND, parents were Ida Frank & Harold McEwen DOD was June 4th 1989. Could someone let me know if his actual death took place in FL or MI. Beleive it or not he is buried in WI. If it was a FL death, could an obit be found. I thank you for your time. Maye B-T

The SSDI has his last "residence" listed as Citrus County. That does not mean he died in Citrus County, that is just the last address SS had for him. Also, he does not show up on the Florida Death Index. I would go with Michigan for a death certificate. Many northerns come to Florida for the winter, this may have been the case with your step-father.
