As you said, the obituary was published in the Florida Today newspaper September 5, 2001, page 3B. Here is what it said:

JOSEPH BONNER
SUNTREE
Joseph John Bonner, 72, a retired electrical engineer for Honeywell, died Sunday, September 2, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Bonner was born in Flushing, N. Y. He came to Brevard County in 1992 from Albuquerque, N. M.
He was a retired U.S. Air Force Major.
Mr. Bonner was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Bonner of Suntree; son, Mark Bonner of Minneapolis, Minn.; and sisters, Janet Bonner of North Carolina and Joan O'Connell of Cocoa Beach.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 6th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockledge.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Mary's Building Fund, 75 Barton Blvd., Rockledge, FL 32955.
Florida Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Jerry, we have the microfilm of the Florida Today here in the Cocoa library. I can look tomorrow at the September 5th 2001 issue. I assume the date September 5, "2011" is a typo.

Looking for an obituary for Joseph John Bonner Sr. He passed away on September 2, 2001 and his obituary should be in the Florida Today (September 5, 2011 edition).

I think he might have passed away in Suntree but not 100% certain.

There is one more place I can look--the Cocoa Tribune paper. Next time I am at the library I will take a look.

Margaret G. Handley Caswell, 90, died Sunday, January 27, 2002, at home.
Mrs. Caswell was born in Meadville, Pa. She moved to Florida in 1965 from Erie, Pa.
She was a licensed pilot of single engine planes and trained World War II veterans. Together with her husband, she owned and operated Handley School of Aviation in Conneaut Lake, Pa., from 1939 until 1965. She retired to Florida in 1965.
Mrs. Caswell also owned and operated Handleys Dry Cleaning in Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Central Brevard Community Church in Cocoa, was a member of St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women, the American Legion Women's Auxiliary unit #22, and a member of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary #3550.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Brownlie Funeral Home with the Rev. George Wyatt officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. George T. Tristram of Melbourne and a sister, Mrs. Viola Day Quirk of Chicago."

I can find no records that have the burial information for Hazen Fox. You may try the Funeral Homes in this area and see if they have what you want. Try doing an internet search for Funeral Homes in Brevard County, Florida. This will list their addresses and phone numbers.

I will be at the library in Cocoa tomorrow and will look at microfilm of the Florida Today for the obituaries. I see Margaret is listed in an index of obituaries, her obituary was published in the Florida Today January 29, 2002. Harry is not listed, but I will look at obituaries near his death date.

Ora Day Tristram died on July 3rd, 1953. Is there any way to get her Obit? Maybe her obit can shed light on his death date.

I was not able to find a date of death for George Tristram and with no date it is very time consuming to scan the microfilm of the local papers for an obituary. If you find the date, please get back in touch.

While looking for the death date, I came upon the following information which may be of interest:

“The Two Cemeteries at Melbourne”, published by the Genealogical Society of South Brevard list three Tristram burials—Ora Day Tristram, 1886-1953; George T.
Tristram–1873-1954; and George D. Tristram—1907-1951. The funeral home is not listed.

The Florida Death Index lists George Day Tristram, died 1951.

FindAGrave.com lists George D. Tristram, 1907-1951, buried Melbourne Cemetery.

The 1940 Federal Census lists George Tristram, age 65, Ora M. Tristram, age 53, and George D. Hammerstein, age 32, living in Cook County, Illinois. The younger George is listed a stepson of the elder George.

An unsourced family tree on Ancestry.com says that George D. Hammerstein is the son of Ora Day and Clifford Hammerstein, born 23 Dec 1907.

The Indiana birth index lists George D. Hammerstein as the son of Clifford G. Hammerstein and Ora Day.

This would appear to be your George Tristram, with a middle name of “Day” instead of “J.”.

He must have been adopted, because is given name was George J. Hammerstein. Even if an obit cannot be found, I would like to know his death date. Thanks to all.

I see that you have helped a lot of people here, so I hope you can give me some ideas. I am looking for burial information for my great uncle, Hazen Fox, who lived in Cocoa, and died Jul 24, 1991.
I contacted the Cocoa Bch and Brevard libraries, but they can't find an obituary for him. So do you know of any place that has burial records for the local cemeteries? Or can you suggest any funeral homes to contact?

Services for Virgil Lee Harris, 92, 1504 Loring St., Cocoa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Clearlake First Baptist Church in Cocoa.
A retired farmer and a Brevard resident for 14 years, Mr. Harris died Friday at Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital in Rockledge.
Survivors include his wife, Dolly Harris of Cocoa; four children, Vernon Harris of Lexington, Ky., Ivan Harris of Knightstown, Ind., Blanche Carmicle of Cocoa and Ruth Grigsby of Cocoa; and (unreadable) grandchildren.
Calling hours are scheduled for 406 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at Florida memorial Funeral Home on U. S. 1 south of Rockledge.

Hey - don't feel bad...years ago the mortgage company I was with sent the escrowed property tax payments for ALL of their BREVARD customers to the BROWARD County Tax Collectors office by mistake! Ha-ha-ha! Oops!

You're not the first to confuse the two, and you won't be the last...even the 'big boys' get 'em confused.

Hi...

You're in the wrong county...Fred died in BROWARD County. (Looks like he may have died in Dania Beach, which is in Broward.) If his obit appeared in the Miami Herald - that's Dade County. Broward County (Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood, etc.) sits north of Miami/Dade. [This county, Brevard, is about 180 miles north of Broward.] I would suggest posting in the Broward or Dade county boards for help obtaining his obit.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Maurice of Cocoa; daughter, Bonnie Sheehy of Cocoa; son, Ron of Las Vegas, Nev.; one granddaughter, Teri Hurst of Cocoa; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 23rd, at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Brevard Memorial Park.

Belle Franklin Dora/Dore married Henry Brohm. They had a son (Henry Dore Brohm) and a daughter, Jill. Jill is the one who went missing from the street dance. There were four Henry Brohms'. Henry Dore Brohm's grandfather, was Henry Brohm. Henry Dore Brohm's father was Henry Brohm (no Dore in the middle), Henry Dore Brohm came next and I believe he had a son (born in Colorado) named Henry ? Brohm. Henry Dore Brohm ALSO had a daughter named Myrtle. One more thing - John Franklin Dora, Sr., and Lucy Magdelene Smith were married in Green County, Kentucky - not Lexington, Missouri.

She was born June 20, 1930, in Washington, D.C., where she graduated from Notre Dame High School. She worked as a secretary in President John F. Kennedy's office and later was a secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Mrs. Leventry recently was elected vice president of the Southern District Council of the Police Community Relations Council. She served on the board of directors at the South County Senior Center, was active with Historic London Town and Gardens and was a member of St. James' Episcopal Church in Lothian and former president of the Women of St. James' Parish. In addition to writing, her interests included travel.

Surviving are her husband of 23 years, John U. Leventry Jr.; and one brother, Charles Buterbaugh of San Diego, Calif.

I am looking for info on JOHN UMBAUGH LEVENTRY who lived in Melborne, Brevard, Florida...1913-1998 also had a son, John U. Leventry, Jr living in same area, maybe still living. I would love to connect to anyone knowing either of these men....one was my grandfather, the other an uncle. Thanks for any help !
