Can someone do a marriage lookup for me. My grandparents were married in Fountain, Florida around 1917. My great aunt told me they went to Blountstown to get their marriage liscense. John Thomas McCalvin married Leola V. Gibney. Can find no records online for that time frame of marriages.
Thanks for the help in advance.

My great great great grandmother may have been married to a Givney or Gibney. Do you have any info. on the Givney's of Washington County or Bay County?

No, I'm sorry to say that I don't know anything about the family. What was the time frame of your ggggrands marriage to a Gibney/Givney? I have been unable to find that name in the census for the late 1880's to 1920's in the area I'm searching. Do YOU have any info on them?

Their marriage would have been after 1867. Her name was Kizzie Grant Young. I found her in the Washington County, Florida 1885 census. The last name is spelled wrong and looks like Gincy, listed as widowed. I can't find a record of marriage. Their are two girls listed in the marriages, by the last name of Gibney or Givney, named Lee and Kallie or Callie.

Can you give me the exact name that your ancestor is listed as in the 1885 census? Or refer me to the exact page number of the Washington county census where you found her? It's somewhat ironic that there were 2 girls in her household by the names of Kallie and Lee. My grandmother's name was Lee(Ola) and her mother's name was Kallie. My grandmother was born in 1899 and wouldn't have been on the 1885 census. Kallie married John Gibney in 1890, so she wouldn't have been a Gibney in the 1885 census. However, I have been unable to find either of them in the 1900 census. I'm really hoping that the census you are referring to is actually for 1900, and they might be in the household with John Gibney/Givney's mother.

There is a John Givney listed as an inmate at Chattahoochee, Gadsden, Florida in the 1900 federal census.

Thanks for your input. Yes, I am aware of that. He was my great grandmother's husband. I have no idea why he was there and I'm not sure if my grandmother used the Gibney name or not. Her biological father was James H. "Jim" Long.
