1907 Wreck Verdict of $4000 Brother of Terra Cotta Victim Compromises with Baltimore and Ohio Road. By consent of counsel, a verdict for $4000 was rendered in the District Supreme Court, yesterday, in favor of George J. Lippold, administrator, against the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for the death of Mary A. Lippold, who was killed in the wreck at Terra Cotta, December 30, last. 1948 C.W. Lippold Rites Monday; Ex Policeman Requiem mass for Charles W. Lippold 64, former Metropolitan policeman, will be said at Nativity Church, 13th St and Peabody Sts NW at 9am Monday after prayers at his late residence. Burial will be in Washington National Cemetery. Mr. Lippold died Thursday at his home, 5809 6th St NW . He had been in ill health for several years. A native of Washington, he was a policeman for about 10 years prior to 1918. He was later connected with the Prudential Life Insurance Co and had worked as a building guard until a heart ailment forced his retirement three years ago. Mr. Lippold attended the old Business High School, now Roosevelt High. He was active in the Holy Names Society and in the Association of Oldest Inhabitants. Surviving is his wife. Mrs. Mary Ruppert Lippold; a son, Charles R. Lippold of Cleveland, Ohio ; three daughters, Mrs. Mary L. Brannock, Mrs. Frances L. White and Miss Doris K. On Ancestry.com.UK message boards 3 family members were posting in 2001& 2 : Lippold/Meyer: Our line immigrated from Neustadt Germany in 1872, they came over on the ship "Lord Baltimore". They settled in Washington, DC. Veit and Margaretta were the adults and the children at time of immigrating were, Dora, George. They later had other children born here in the US. They were named John, Charles, Mary, Barbara, Ann. We know that after 1906, George went to Baltimore and Barbara Lippold married Harry Higbee and also moved out of Washington DC.
