PLEASE HELP! I am trying to find information on my biological grandmother. My mother's name is Deborah and she was adopted in 1951. She was born March 5, 1951 at Wilmington General Hospital in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware.

Deborah's (my mother's) birth certificate was signed by her mother as Carol Chase Maxwell and was witnessed by Richard Maxwell. Later it was discovered through the adoption papers that Deborah's biological mother's name was Carol Lee Chase. we know she was not married at the time she gave birth to Deborah and perhaps, falsified the papers in order to conceal her real name.

According to the hospital reports, Richard Maxwell was spoken to be her brother, although he may have been Deborah's biological father. Carol was nineteen when she gave birth to Deborah (so born 1931 or 1932). Carol lived in Yonkers NY (possibly born there).

The adoption was arranged by a mutual physician between My mother's biological mother and her adopted mother. we know they stayed in the Newark Delaware area for an unknown period of time.
