Thank you so much for this info! To date, the only source I had was the Boyer book put out by the American Assn of Boyers, which is very limited.
The only info they had was:
James Ellis boyer, b 5 Dec 1788 Delaware, d abt. 1878 - died in his 90th year
I found a James E Boyer in the 1850 census for Kent County, Murderkill Hundred, lines 30 - 32, residence & family 267
James E Boyer, 60, carpenter, estate value=600, born in DE
Elizabeth, 55, born in DE
Margaret Jewel, 43, born in DE, illiterate
There was also an entry in 1860 - Kent, Murderkill Hundred, lines 34 - 36, residence 1486, family 1459
James E Boyer, 72, gentleman real estate=800, personal estate=400, born in DE
Margaret Boyer, age is difficult to read - but could be 56 or 86
Margaret Jewell, 50
That is all I have on him.
