My mother was a Brazil (pronounced Brazzil) born in Meriden, CT in 1903. Her brother, Walter, was a Broadway performer, who woked with George M. Cohan during the early twentieth century. Her mother Kate died when my mom was only four years old. She was raised by a german family in Meriden named Klatt.
