Does anyone know the name of the cemetery located on Lathrop Road in Plainfield? It is a small cememtery. You need to follow a path from the road into a field. From the field, the cemetery entrance is on the right.

Since the Dog Track closed the upkeep on this cemetery leaves much to be desired. There are bush-like plants blocking the stones near the bottom part of the cemetery from people like myself who are afraid of snakes and such. Also, many of the stones have once again fallen, some are sunk into the ground and some have shattered. However, someone did come in to put the flags near the ones who have fought for our country this past Memorial Day.

I grew up on Lathrop Road and this cemetery was always a favorite place of mine to go to when I wanted some peace and serenity. I have always been curious of the name. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Surnames: Howe, Packer
Sorry, I have no knowledge of the name of this cemetery, but if anyone knows of any Howes or Packers buried there, please let me know. I live in Iowa, but I know a lot of my Howe ancestors lived in Plainfield.
I hope someone restores the cemetery before it is lost.

There is another un-named small cemetery in Plainfield, CT. If you look at an overhead map Tarbox Road, Lillibridge Road and RT 12 that meets them, the cemetery is somewhat in the center, just outside the perimeter of the old drive-in theater that used to be inside that circle. There are about 10-15 stone there. I moved out of CT a few years ago and haven't been back there in over 15 years. It would be a miracle if those stone were still standing. I know the outer wall was broken and some stones were damaged or sunken. As I recall, some stones were significantly large, 3 feet or more. tall. Hope this helps. I can use a google map to get a more accurate location if you need.
