Hi,

I'm seeking a birth record for Elizabeth Bliss (my 4th great grandmother). Secondary sources suggest that she was born on 21 Oct 1799 in Windham County, CT to Elizabeth Johnson and David Bliss (but I haven't been able to locate a primary source).

I'm giving a talk on this ancestor to the Santa Clara County Historical and Genealogical Society this July, so if there were anyway this could be found before then, I'd love to include it in my talk... If not, I'm also writing a book about her amazing life, so would still be delighted for information after then, too. :-)

Here's a link to the Barbour records for the town of Windham. Or, methodically look at all the other towns in Windham County on this website. At the date given 1798/1799 a huge percentage of births were never recorded, so it may be that you will never find a birth record.

Hi Kristen....Saw your query. I descend from John Clark/Phoebe Russell .Windham Co.CT. Their son Daniel married 2 times once to a Mary Bliss, but I am not sure. They ended up living in Smithfield, RI...and bought a farm.
