Harriet WHITON b. 2-26-1826 in Windham county, Conn d/o Elijah and Matildia SMITH WHITON. She married William R. STORRS 6-14-1850 by Charles S. ADAMS. When they married he apparently worked for the railroad as a depot master. 1860 finds them in Cincinnati, Ohio with two children, William H. age 5 and Alice M age 2. William was an agent for something (assume it was the railroad but couldn't read it). Next they are in Buffalo, NY in 1863 when Alice Mary dies of membraneous croup. I would very much like to know what happened to this family. No family connection, but I have a crazy quilt Harriet WHITON STORRS made between 1880-1886. It was purchased in Arkansas in the late 1960's early 1970's by my great aunt, then I purchased it from her. All I wanted to do was see if Harriet was a real person or if someone had put a name on the quilt just to up the price - now I'm hooked. Any info would be appreciated.
